Staples, are you reading this?

Back in October, I placed several orders from Staples.com, one of which was canceled. They not only refunded my money for the order, but they actually credited me $~30 more that I should have received (see "Thanks, Staples...").

Today, I made my annual purchase of TaxCut software along with the usually suspects to make it essentially free after mail-in rebates and coupons. To get a little extra cash back, I decided to try my luck using the online chat function to try to price match two of my items to other stores who are selling them for less. First I pricematched TaxCut to Target who had it for $10 less; no problem...110% price match policy got me an extra $11.00. However, the customer service representative also came back and said that they noticed an error in a previous order in which I was credited more than I paid. I thought about arguing about some statute of limitations but quickly realized I had no real argument. Although I ended up pricematching one of the other items as well to receive a total credit of around $36, I also was charged $28.35 for their previous error for a net of less than $8.

Oh, well...that's what I get for publicly pointing out their mistakes. Hi Mr. Staples.
